Exclusive Preview: The Roots Desert Boots - Part of the upcoming Roots Natural Footwear Collection

So recently a few of us had the opportunity to head over to the leather factory to get a sneak peak of the footwear being planned for launch later this year.

There were definitely alot of "ooo's", "ahh's" and "I want those!" being murmured from the group.

I can't share all the images or design plans yet...

But I know you're probably as excited as we are so here's your first sneak peak.

The Roots Desert Boots

You may remember these from back in the day (you all know you owned a pair and loved them!), but I can assure you, shoes have come a long way since then.

The Roots Desert Boot will come in either leather or suede of the highest quality grain. Soft, comfortable and durable, they'll mould to your feet as you wear them, making them the perfect fit!Roots Shoes: Desert Boots

The leather used will be vegetable tanned. This method dates back to the 19th century and is an Italian artisan tradition. It has since evolved and today involves the use of both antique recipes and cutting edge technology to create the most environmentally friendly and long lasting leather. (How often do you come across a comfortable, fashionable shoe that will be there for the long haul too?)

Only natural vegetable extracts from chestnuts and Argentinean quebracho trees are used in the tanning process.

The sole of the Desert Boot will be made of 100% latex rubber. All natural, it is a sustainable product that will provide you with a natural cushion as you're walking.

Pair them with your favourite jeans, or tailored shorts/pants. Whatever look you're sporting your feet will be happy.

As with all Roots leather products, these will be Made in Canada.
