Lesson #1: The origins of Roots leather.

  • We get our leather from the finest tanneries in the world and are consistently on the lookout for the best tanneries to source from. Expert craftsmen, the Kowalewski family, has managed our state-of-the-art leather factory in Toronto, Canada since the creation of our first leather product - the negative heel shoe.

  • Did you know, that with our commitment to the environment, we require 100% of our leather sourced from food industry by-products? All of the tanneries we work with adhere to the strictest environmental standards. Scrap leather is made into other products at Roots like key fobs, key chains and leather wallets, until there is nothing left to use.
