Roots: Green Since ‘73

At Roots, we have been green since long before it was hip and cool. We have always been involved with eco-friendly initiatives as a part of our socially-responsible approach to business. In fact, green is the colour of Roots to symbolize our commitment to the environment and sustainability in general.

One of the ways in which Roots does its part for the environment is by using organic cotton.

Organic cotton

We began experimenting with organic cotton in 1989 and we are adding more and more products made from it every season.

Using organic cotton is great for the environment because the growing process requires no pesticides or chemical fertilizers, which means that the effect on the earth is minimal. We also use recycled cotton, recycled polyesters and natural products such as wool, bamboo, hemp and soya. By using these products we leave less of a mark on the environment and promote sustainability not only to our customers but in our industry. This is just one of the ways that Roots is doing its part as a leader in producing environmentally-friendly products.
