Revolutionary Writer and Artist Coming to the Bloor St. Store!
On Saturday, July 18, 2009, Franke James will be visiting us at our Bloor St. store in Toronto for the launch of her new book, Bothered by my Green Conscience. James is a Canadian author and artist whose work is inspired by her own environmental conscience. As an individual who used to drive an SUV, James has transformed herself into someone that is making a difference, fighting city hall on green issues as she becomes one of the most important environmental activists in Canada.
The book describes how someone who lives in the city, has terrible green habits and simply doesn't make an environmental effort can become an activist that the entire country looks up to. Through her adventures with Toronto City Hall, trying to build a green driveway to her efforts to have laws changed to make green behaviour mandatory James shows the importance of environment-first thinking. In her own unique style James has created a wonderful piece of literature that will allow the reader to develop their own thoughts and beliefs and inspires us to turn those beliefs into actions.
Franke James will be at Roots on Bloor for a special public reading and book signing. Be sure to stop by on Saturday, July 18th at 3pm.

Great post! I know plenty of people who want to go green but can't let go of certain things (exotic fruit for example). Maybe a book like this will convince them that it's the right choice.
